Nagytevel község Veszprém megyében a pápai kistérségben a Bakony lábainál. Oklevelek 1422-ben tüntették fel először Nagthewel formában.
Címere: álló csücsköstalpú pajzs kék mezejében a boglárpajzs helyén, talpára állított arany háromszögben az isteni szem. Körülötte a háromszög vonalát követő zárt arany sugárkoszorú látszik.
A pajzs fölött domború íven a Nagytevel, alul homorú íven a Deutschtewel felirat jelenik meg.
Az egyetlen motívum értelmezése:
Magasztosan szimbólikus jel az Isten szeme: „Isten saját képmására teremtette az embereket, saját szeme fényét helyezte a szívükbe…” Isten szeme rajtunk, s a mienk Őrajta.
Itt nem az ítélőbíró, hanem a mindent látó gondviselő minőségében idéződik meg a szentháromság is.
A sugárkoszorú a gondviselésben, a Világ fenntartásában megnyilvánuló isteni mindenhatóság szimbóluma, egyúttal az erejével teremtő, hatalmával fenntartó, igazgató, gondviselő nap ábrázolása.

The Village of Nagytevel is situated in the County of Veszprém in the small area of Pápa, at the feet of Bakony. It was first mentioned in a document in 1422 in the form of Nagthewel.
The coat-of-arms: In the place of the inescutcheon of the field azure of a pointed base shield erect a God’s eye is borne in a triangle or. Around it, following the lines of the triangle a closed ray wreath or is borne. Above the coat-of-arms on a convex scroll the motto Nagytevel, below the coat-of-arms on a concave scroll the motto Deutschtewel is borne.
The meaning of the only motif:
The God’s eye is a loftily symbolic sign: “God formed people according to his own face, placed his own eye into their hearts…” God’s eye is on us, and ours are on Him.
Here it is not a judge, but the saint trinity is evoked in the form of an all seeing eye.
The ray wreath is the symbol of omnipotency of God, manifested in providence and the observance of the World. At the same time it is the representation of the Sun, creator with its power, supporter with its authority, governor and guardian.
