Álló, háromszögletű, kék, színű katonai pajzs, alul ezüst hullámpólyával; a pajzs mezejében jobbról ezüstszőlőfürttel, balról ezüst ekevassal és csoroszlyával kísért, jobbjában kivont szablyát tartó ezüst hajdú lebeg. A pajzson félig jobbra forduló, zárt katonai sisak háromlombú arany sisakkoronával, amelyen kivont szablyát tartó, páncélos ezüst férfikar az oromdísz. A sisaktartó mindkét oldalon vörös és arany. A pajzs alatt szalag lebeg GESZTELY felirattal.
(A címer fő alakja, a hajdú a község egykori hajdú-kiváltságára emlékeztet, ahogyan a címer teljes volta és az oromdísz is. A hullámpólya a Hernád folyót és ezáltal a természeti környezetet, annak értékeit idézi, míg a szőlőfürt és ekevas-csoroszlya a régi községi jelképekre és ezáltal az önkormányzat régi voltára, valamint az emberi munkára utal)

It is a standing triangular blue shield with waved fess of silver.
Int he field of the shield there is a floating silver Heyduck, holding a drawn sabre in his right hand. He is followed with a bunch of silver grapes from the right and a silver ploughshare and coulter from the left. On the top of the shield there is a half right turned fully-closed helmet with a three-legged golden crown on. On the very top an armoured hand holding a drawn sabre from silver can be seen. The cover of the helmet is red and gold from both sides. Under the shield a band with the inscription „Gesztely” is floating. The main figure of the shield the „Heyduck” relates to the farmer Heyduck-privilegesof the village just like the whole coat of arms and the finial. The waved fess recalls the river Hernad related to the natural environment and its values. While the bunch of grapes, the plougshare and coulter refer to the old symbols of the village, the work of people, and the old-standing local council.
