Egy anjou pajzson, piros mezőben, zöld fa, két kereszt és egy nyúl.
A szimbólumok tartalma:
A két kereszt azt szimbolizálja, hogy Dány község jelenleg harmadik helyén épült fel, de a kereszt kifejezője a község lakossága keresztény hitének.
Zöld fa: Életfa. Egy stilizált domb tetején van. A domb valójában egy sírhatom, mely arra
emlékeztet, hogy a török időkben - de mások szerint a tatárjárás idején - a községért életét áldozta a falu akkori bírája, akinek a neve Sebestyén Sebestyén volt Ebből a dombból, sírhalomból emelkedik ki az életfa, jelentvén azt, hogy az életben mindig is áldozatokra volt szükség.
A nyúl, mint címerállat, nem túl gyakori. Dány címerébe azért került, mert egy XVIII. századi dányi pecséten szerepelt. Az egyik változatban a nyúl egy megfordított eke talpán ül, a másik változatban két hátsó lábára állva, egy fához támaszkodik.

In an Angevin shield gules the charges of a tree vert, two crosses and a rabbit are borne.
The charges in the settlement’s coat of arms can be interpreted as follows:
The two crosses symbolise that this is the third place where the village of Dány was built up. On the other hand the cross is also a reference to the Christian faith of the local inhabitants. The green tree stands for the Tree of Life and it is borne on the top of a stylised mound vert. The mound represents a burial mound, a reminder of the historical fact that the one-time judge of the settlement, called Sebastian, sacrificed his life for the village in the period of the Turkish Conquest. (According to others this event can rather be related to the period of the Mongol invasion of Hungary.) The Tree of Life is issuing from this mound, meaning, that Life has always required sacrifices.
The rabbit is not a commonly used heraldic charge. It is borne in Dány’s coat of arms, because it appeared as charge in an old, 18th century village seal. One version of the seal featured a rabbit, sitting on an upturned ploughshare, another version has a rabbit statant and leaning onto a tree trunk.
